It has come to our attention that there are concerns with flexible seating and making sure all students have equal access. Because some students are bringing their own personal Yoga balls, discipline problems have developed.
Any personal Yoga balls needs to be picked up from school as soon as possible. Thanks for your understanding and support in implementing this CMS initiative. If you are interested in donating a Yoga ball to the classroom for use by all students, please contact your child's teacher.
Thank you,
Dina Modine

Parents,
Our class is having a blast preparing for the McAlpine Elementary Fun Run coming up soon! We've also begun to learn how to "be brave" and live with character through Boosterthon's character theme, Castle Quest. On their quest to regain Bravemore Castle, our students are learning the "SIX VIRTUES of a TRUE HERO" from a cast of colorful characters. Make sure to ask your students what they've learned each day, and together you can watch the story unfold on funrun.com!
Remember, we need your help connecting to sponsors who can make a pledge to help our school! Please make sure all pledges for the laps are entered on funrun.com. The more pledges we get, the more incentives our class earns on our Pledge-O-Meter. Plus, for every $30 per lap our class pledges, a donation will be made to help teachers fund their classroom projects through Boosterthon's giveback initiative, Project Classroom. I know our students are excited to rise to the challenge and lend a helping hand to teachers everywhere!
Thank you for your generosity and support of our school. If you have any questions, please let me know.
Have a great day!
P.S. Make sure to register your child on funrun.com. He or she will receive a FREE GIFT just for being signed up. Use our school registration code: 243429Don't forget to login to funrun.com to make awesome videos!! Ask local business to donate to MCALPINE so we can raise funds for our school!
McAlpine Book Week is coming next week April 16th through 20th!
We are celebrating McAlpine's love for reading as we lead up to the Scholastic Book Fair which will take place April 23rd to 27th. This celebration will include a classroom door decorating contest with each class focusing on a book they love, daily book trivia on Eagle Extra, and a Dress like a Book Character Day. Dress like a book character day is Wednesday, April 18th. Everyone should dress like a favorite book character! Students may dress like any book character they love or can choose a character from their classroom door theme.

MEDIA CENTER VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Please consider signing up to volunteer in our media center. We still have many classes without volunteers, especially on Mondays and Thursdays. Your child does not have to be in the class that you volunteer with...please pick any day/time that works best for you! Do not feel pressure to be there every week...once or twice a month is also appreciated! New volunteers are welcome. Contact [email protected] to schedule a brief training session on the computer. Thank you! http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0b4caba729a64-media6 |
Parents Visiting During Lunchtime
When visiting and having lunch with your child, your child is allowed to bring 1 friend to the parent table to join you, only if there is room. If multiple parents have come to join their children for lunch, then no extra friends are allowed to sit at the table. We are finding that chairs are being taken from other tables to accommodate friends at the parent table and that is not permitted. If you are coming to join your child for lunch, teachers have the discretion to not permit friends joining them to allow room for other parents. If you choose to come to lunch, please understand this is for you to enjoy spending time with your child. We all appreciate your understanding and cooperation with this matter. Thank you! |
